The Museum gallery at the museum of Klausen

The Museum of Chiusa/Klausen celebrated a special jubilee in 2012: its 20th year since reopening and the 100th special exhibition at the museum gallery.

In addition to individual or group exhibitions of artists with mainly paintings and sculptures, many topics of historical and cultural importance were discussed, including significant documentations such as the “Klausner Artist Colony 1874-1914”, “Klausen and Eisacktal valley in old views,” “Castle Branzoll and the German castle romanticism” or the documentation of Klausen being granted town privileges in 1308.

The Museum of Chiusa/Klausen hosted several exhibitions focussing on the representatives of the Klausner Art Colony and their works. Special exhibits by renowned local and international artists were held as well.  Particular attention was and is paid to the young, emerging talents.

An average of five special exhibitions per year make the Museum of Chiusa/Klausen one of the most active art facilities in South Tyrol. Its high-quality art selection has shaped the museum’s good reputation over the decades.
